Ribagorza is also well-known for its cultural wealth. There are lots of places to visit with an outstanding cultural value.

There are archaeological remains from the Roman Empire next to Puebla de Castro, this place is known as the Labitolosa settlement, one of the most important archaeological discoveries in Aragón. Romanesque art shows up in its many different forms and styles all along the territory.

The best example of Lombard-Romanesque style is found in Santa María de Obarra. Lombardism has presence in Benasque valley’s churches and shrines. The Romanesque style originated in Jaca, and that stands out by its chequered stone reliefs, is found in the Abbey of Alaón in Sopeira, and lastly, in the cathedral of Roda de Isábena.

There are also Gothic style instances such as La Puebla de Castro and Capella’s churches, and Gothic-Renaissance vestiges, being La Peña de Graus basilica the most important one.

Another appealing cultural tour is made up by castles; the ones that go from Panilla until Montañana, not to forget those ones in Perarrúa, Benabarre or Fantova.

You can neither forget visiting Espacio Pirineos exhibition centre, the History and Customs museum and the museum of Icons in Graus, the museum of Traditional Games in Campo, the Laspaúles’s Witches theme park, the beautiful villages of Puente de Montañana and Roda de Isábena, and Panillo’s Buddhist temple among others

Kids will also enjoy culture and will get to know Graus, Benabarre, Arén and Castejón de Sos by following funny clues all around these villages.

Last but not least, they can observe dinosaurs’ footprints at Arén. This village has an extraordinary internationally recognised paleontological heritage.
